This week's Music Bingo at Salt Mine City Brewing is heading through the charts with the Billboard Hot 100 of 1972, 1994, and 2016, featuring three playlists built from the songs that defined three very different years in popular music.
First, we're heading back to 1972, when rock, soul, Motown, singer-songwriters, and early-'70s pop shared the charts. From enduring classics to songs that instantly transport you back more than five decades, this playlist captures the wide-ranging sound of the era.
Then, we're jumping forward to 1994, a year when alternative rock, R&B, hip-hop, pop, country crossovers, and unforgettable ballads all competed for radio dominance. It's a playlist packed with '90s nostalgia and songs that remain instantly recognizable more than three decades later.
Finally, we land in 2016, with a mix of pop anthems, dance hits, hip-hop, R&B, and massive crossover singles from some of the decade's biggest artists. If you remember what was dominating radio, streaming, and playlists ten years ago, this one's for you.
